Challenge
Barcelona School quizzes could be used as classification rounds for the Barcelona School Challenge, to help decide the team of 4 students who will represent the school in the Barcelona area contest, or as a fun thing to do but with a competitive element that students will be very enthusiastic about, or simply as an aid to learning, and can be tailored to specific subject areas if necessary, depending on school requirements.
School / University Challenge format. (Several teams of 4 students)
- Starter questions are asked to all contestants and the first to buzz (or raise their hand) must answer immediately (or the full question is passed to the other team). The team that correctly answers a starter question is then asked three ‘bonus’ questions which they may confer on and which may be passed to the other team.
- o points are deducted for incorrectly interrupting a starter question on the buzzer (or raised hand).
- Bonus questions are worth 10 points each and are passed across to the other team if answered incorrectly
- A team answering the starter and all three subsequent bonuses correctly gains an extra bonus of 10 points: thus 50 points are available per round
- There are 10 rounds of questions, thus 500 points are available per contest
- There are no picture or music rounds
